Well known for her sense of humor, but better known as a board certified endocrinologist, Dr. Tokayer established Elite Diabetes and Endocrine Specialists after working for several prestigious endocrine groups. She wanted to give patients a more-intimate boutique experience. She was awarded Outstanding Physician by Boca Regional Hospital for her work in diabetes education. She also focuses on thyroid and parathyroid disease, pituitary, adrenal, and metabolic disorders. She has been selected a Castle Connolly Top Doctor by her peers.

Born to Holocaust survivors, she grew up and trained in New York with the determination to make the world a better place. Working one on one with patients is what it takes to make meaningful change. At Elite, we provide the support to assist patients in reaching their goals, and then push them just a bit more. She and her husband (rheumatologist Dr Amiel Tokayer) met while attending SUNY Downstate Medical School and went on to train at Winthrop Hospital NYU Langone. They have 5 children who make the world a more interesting place.

Sharon Miller MD graduated from Xavier University and obtained her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Miller completed an internal medicine residency and an Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. She specializes in diabetes, thyroid, osteoporosis, adrenal, and pituitary disorders.

Dr. Miller is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is a member of The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and The Endocrine Society. She is certified in thyroid ultrasound by AACE and has over fifteen years of experience as a Clinical Endocrinologist, eight of which she has practiced in South Florida.

She and her husband have three daughters who enjoy competitive swimming and diving. Dr. Miller brings her expertise of medicine to Elite Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists.

Marci Page Sloane, MS, RD, LDN, CDE is a registered and licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist and certified Diabetes Educator in South Florida. She grew up in New York City where she graduated from Columbia University with a double Master’s degree in Nutrition and Physiology.

Marci is the CEO of Food Majesty, Inc., author of Reality Diabetes ~ type 2, The Diet Game: Playing for Life!, The Divorced Woman’s Diet, and is contributor to Chicken Soup for the Soul Healthy Living Series Diabetes. Sloane is a nutrition and disease and healthy eating counselor, speaks frequently in the community, is coordinator of American Diabetes Association (ADA) programs, an ADA Valor Award recipient, and does radio, television and magazine interviews. Marci is passionate about her work and it shows when you meet her.

Scott Shapiro, MMS, PA-C, is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences from Valencia College, a Bachelor degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Miami Dade College and a Masters of Medical Science degree from Saint Francis University, all achieved with highest honors. During his time in the Physician Assistant program at Miami Dade College, he was voted “Classmate of the Year” by his peers.

Being diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at the age of three has allowed Scott to possess a unique perspective and approach working as a health care provider treating other diabetic patients. Scott has volunteered for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) for many years and has been an active member of the diabetic community. He is passionate about sharing his journey with diabetes using not only his clinical knowledge but his own personal life experiences to help educate and treat patients. Scott brings over ten years of healthcare experience to Elite Endocrinology working previously in the field of radiology.

When Scott is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son at their home in Boca. He is also a bit of a techie and is always up to date on the latest products and innovations in the tech world.

Dr. Angela Richter is a board-certified endocrinologist who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, magna cum laude and with honors, and her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Florida Atlantic University and completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the University of Florida in Jacksonville.

Dr. Richter specializes in diabetes and thyroid management with a special interest in obesity, lipid, and reproductive disorders. She has a passion for nutrition science and how it relates to hormonal balance and general wellbeing. During her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, exercising and spending quality time with family and friends.
